Jacques Duphly was a popular harpsichordist and organist and the composer of bright, lively, and attractive keyboard music. Alpha Productions' Jacques Duphly: Pièces de Clavecin, featuring harpsichordist Elisabeth Joyé, is a very good introduction to his general sound and far more accessible by virtue of its selectiveness, compiling 14 of the best of Duphly's 52 surviving compositions.
